Stated Presbytery Meeting Update (Postponed)
In light of Covid-19 precautions, the Presbytery Leadership Commission acted to postpone the March 20-21 Presbytery Meeting until after public health orders and recommendations against public gatherings have been lifted. The Presbytery Leadership Commission will continue to monitor the situation and provide appropriate notice for the next meeting of the Presbytery.
Presbytery rules require at least two weeks notice to call for a meeting.
Our prayers are with all congregations and leaders as they continue their ministry in faithful and creative ways during this Covid-19 pandemic.
Presbytery Leadership Commission
March 13, 2020
Dear Pastors and Clerks of Session,
The Presbytery Leadership Commission of Cascades Presbytery urges all sessions to suspend public gatherings for their congregations, including worship, to support public health and the well-being of participants and our larger communities. We encourage you to closely follow guidance from public health authorities, and maintain these practices until the time when such restrictions are lifted.
Simultaneously, we trust that you will find creative ways to remain in fellowship and community, supporting one another and living out your Christian vocations. We hope too that despite our current need for “Social Distancing,” we will also be able to lean into our connectional nature to nurture the health and vitality of all our members.
Thank you for your ongoing ministry and faithfulness, even during these challenging times. Please know of both our gratitude and prayers.
Grace and Peace,
Brian, Paul, and Clark
Rev. Brian Heron, Presbyter for Vision and Mission
Rev. Paul Belz-Templeman, Stated Clerk
Rev. Clark Scalera, Advocate for Congregations and Clergy
