Each and every
congregation in Cascades has a choice as to where it wants to go. It is a
matter of understanding where you are in the life cycle of a congregation and
determining that you are ready to go forward in God’s potential.

Deuteronomy
30:19 states: “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.
Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, loving the Lord your
God, obeying him, and holding fast to him; for that means life to you and
length of days.”

As is our
custom during these presentations on Vitality and Renewal in Cascades, we set
a time for small group discussions. In the past when we focused on Bible
study in March and prayer in June we asked to you form those small groups
with the people around you. Today, we ask that your small group be composed
of those from your own congregation. My colleagues are distributing a sheet
that has several questions regarding your particular congregation. Take time
to reflect on the life cycle of your congregation and what you can envision
your church doing to live into God’s potential.

Our time
together will flow into the break so take as long as you need for your
conversation and then work your way to the Gathering Space for our scheduled
twenty minute break. We will return back to the sanctuary at 4:10.
