Job Opening: Christian Education & Nursery Care Provider

Seeking:   A qualified candidate for the work of lovingly nurturing children & families in our children’s ministry activities!

This position is for weekly Christian Education & Nursery Care Provider for children birth to age 9 at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. The services are to be performed Sunday mornings from 10:15 am to 12:15 pm with additional days and times of service arranged periodically.

Planning time is flexible, to be arranged each week as needed. The person must be capable of planning an age appropriate schedule of activities with the assistance of the pastor and children’s ministry team; and be able to carry out safe, healthy care; and Christian nurture for members and visitors.

• The person needs to be knowledgeable about Christian formation in the reformed tradition, or be willing to gain this understanding

• The person needs to be trustworthy, reliable, and flexible and must follow the guidelines that have been established by the session for the prevention of child abuse and neglect

• The person needs to understand their work as a part of the church's ministry of hospitality and Christian formation, and be able to work as a team member with children, parents, volunteers, session members, and the pastor.
